POEM TITLE: RUNNING AFTER YOU

I am running after you
You are my pursuit, I’ll never cease to
I’ll follow you everywhere that you go
In spirit and in truth, I will seek you
You are so true, so new, even than the wife of my youth
The more I have you, the more I need you
Am so persistence
People said I should slow down,
But I wouldn’t listen
I can’t even hear them, am so in
With all my system
And faculty
Who among them can fathom the extent of your accuracy
And the Excellency of your guidance

I am running after you
You are my passion, my affection, and my ambition
Is to become just like you
And to do as you would do, whenever I am opportune
I want you to know that am following because of I love you
Not because of your fortune

Surely goodness and mercy
Shall follow me as I follow you Daddy
You are most gracious; I won’t turn from this journey
I can’t lead except I follow
Life is too brief for assumption
When I think of your wisdom no breath is left in me
Teach me your ways, there are really awesome.

I shall always be your child, and outgrow you never
Meek and mild, following you through forever
I had stray when I thought I have come of age
I dashed my feet, and I broke the hedge
You are so familiar with our ways
But your ways are not our ways, your ways
Are higher, and safer
Even if they may look narrow
Yet will I follow.
